Mother

Tonight, you’re among us—
The Big Rock and Me.
Headed toward the horizon,
unbothered by trees.

You Emit life around us,
bring warmth to our tears.
As we circle around you,
you define our great years.

Your reflection presents us,
The man on our moon
He sits quietly behind me,
As I gaze into you.

A man without life,
yet you give what you can,
His breath can’t sustain,
on solely your plan.

I admire your beauty,
stare to give thanks—
due to you we have love,
due to you we have faith.

You’ll return in the morning,
as we make one more turn,
My dreams will be fueled,
as your majestic body burns.
